In the Book of Hosea we find the expression: ולא אבוא בעיר - “and I will not come in fury” (Hos 11:9; see also: 1 Sam 29:8).
Yet earlier in this book we find:
ואמר אליה, ימים רבים תשבי לי לא תזני, ולא תהיי לאיש וגם אני אליך. - -
“And I said to her: You shall sit [solitary] for me many days; You shall not play the harlot, and you shall not be any man's wife; and [nor will] I [] to you” (Hos 3:3).
However, the content of this verse suggests that the words לא אבוא - “I will not come” are missing here, so instead of וגם אני אליך - we should read: וגם אני לא אבוא אליך - - “nor will I come to you.”
The Psalmist wrote: אנכי יהוה אלהיך המעלך מארץ מצרים - - “I am YHWH your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt” (Ps 81:11; see also Deu 20:1).
Yet in the Book of Hosea we find: ואנכי יהוה אלהיך, מארץ מצרים - “But I am YHWH your God from the land of Egypt” (Hos 12:10; see also Hos 13:4).
The Greek translator wrote here: “But I the Lord your God brought you up from the land of Egypt” and it appears that he believed that the word המעלך - “who brought you up” is missing in these verses of the Book of Hosea.
There are multiple biblical references to: ארזי לבנון - “cedars of Lebanon” (Is 8:3; see also: Jud 9:15; 1 Ki 5:13, 20; 2 Ki 14:9; Is 2:13; 37:24; Jer 22:23; Eze 17:3; 27:5; 31:3; Zec 11:1; Ps 29:5; 92:13; 104:16; Cant 5:15; Ezr 3:7; 2 Ch 2:7; 25:18).
We also read about cedars:
ותשרש שרשיה, ותמלא ארץ. -
כסו הרים צלה; וענפיה, ארזי אל. -
תשלח קצירה עד ים; ואל נהר, יונקותיה. - -
“It took deep root, and filled the land. The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, and the mighty cedars with the boughs thereof. She sent out her branches to the sea, and her shoots to a River” (Ps 80:10-12).
Yet in the Book of Hosea we find:
אהיה כטל לישראל, יפרח כשושנה; ויך שרשיו, כ][לבנון
ילכו ][ ינקותיו,
“I will be as the dew to Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as [] Lebanon. His shoots shall spread []” (Hos 14:6-7).
However, the comparison between these verses suggests that ויך שרשיו כלבנון - “and cast forth his roots as Lebanon” is a word deletion error of ויך שרשיו כארז לבנון - “and cast forth his roots as a cedar of Lebanon.” The comparison between these verses also suggests that
ילכו ינקותיו is a word deletion of ילכו אל נהר ינקותיו - - “his shoots will spread to a river
