In the Book of Ezekiel we read:

לכן כה-אמר אדני יהוה, אוי עיר הדמים-סיר אשר חלאתה בה, וחלאתה לא יצאה ממנה; לנתחיה לנתחיה הוציאה, לא-נפל עליה גורל.

“Wherefore thus said my Lord YHWH: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose filth is therein, and whose filth is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; no lot is fallen upon it” (Eze 24:6; see also: Eze 24:11, 12).

While the English translator assumed that the unique biblical word חלאתה (khelathah), which appears only in these verses, means: “filth” the Greeks assumed that it means “rust.”

However, this verse makes more sense if we assume that several letter-substitution errors had occurred her, and that we should read:

לכן כה-אמר אדני יהוה, אוי עיר הדמים-עיר אשר חטאתה בה, וחטאתה לא יצאה ממנה; לנתחה לנתחיה הוציאה, לא-נפל עליה גורל.

“Wherefore, thus said my Lord YHWH: Woe to the bloody city, a city whose sin is therein and whose sin is not gone out of it! He is out to cut her to piece; no lot is fallen upon her.”
